An offspring of a beast. The warrior princess felt somewhat degraded with how Cao Pi described her. His cold tone got even more chilling when he said the ominous word death. It sent chills running down her spine. That was a Cao for her. A tongue as cold as ice that pierced even the deepest depths of the most formidable soul. Even she cannot deny their extraordinary control of vocabulary.

Having him stare directly into her was like having him peer into the deepest part of her spirit. It made her involuntarily lean back harder against the wall. What kind of person was this man? To make her feel this sort of coldness was something not everyone could do to her.

Her eyes widened at the idea he suggested. “Wed me?” Lingqi asked in a disbelieving tone. Just then, she remembered Yuan Yao, the man who so desperately tried to capture her during battle in order to wed her but failed. She did not want to go to the Yuan, nor did she want to go to the old, mustached Cao. She said their names in her mind with contempt.

Cao Pi smirked, and stepped away from her. He rather liked that reaction. It was amusing to see from someone with a ferocity like hers.

❝Who knows? It’s only a presumption,❞ he replied nonchalantly. ❝I don’t particularly care either way, however I wonder what it is that you desire. It would be unlikely that you could stay here, nor do I believe you’d wish to. If you are freed, where could you go? What could you do?

She had nothing left, as far as he knew. It was quite pitiful to think about.

❝It’s almost depressing,❞ he commented, more so to himself than to her. ❝If you ask nicely, however, I may ask around to see just what is intended for your fate.
